‘Good morning, Conan. Are you going out today?’ Ran asked.
‘Yes, I’m going for a walk. Why? Do you need me to do something for you?’ Conan replied.
‘Oh, I know you always nice to me, if Shinichi was here he would be doing this for me and I don’t need to ask you a favour. Can you please get me some soda? It’s so hot today, I want something refreshing today.’ Ran said.
‘Ok, no problem.’ ‘I will do anything for you, Miss Ran.’ Conan said. ‘Thank you so much Conan.’ Ran replied.
Just about time that Conan leaves the house, he is still at the front gate, the phone rings and Ran answers the phone because no one else is there. ‘Hi there, this is Mouri’s resident’ Ran answers the phone. Conan hears the phone ring so he was waiting to see if that phone call was for him.
‘We are looking for Mr. Kogorou, is he there?’ a man voice said.
‘Who is that? Who are you representing? Why do you want to talk to my father?’ Ran said angrily.
‘We are calling from the JNPA, what we do is very confidential, this is a very serious matter. We may let you know once Mr. Kogorou told us that you can be trusted.’ A man said.
‘What is JNPA stand for anyway? Mister. Ran puzzled.
‘JNPA stands for Japan National Police Agency. Have you ever seen the American movie with FBI? And my name is Jyuzou Megure, police inspector. If you could tell your father that I have called, it would be really helpful. This is my number (03) 3445 – 3181, please get your father to call me back. ‘Jyuzou said seriously. ‘Again, this is urgent!’
Ran wrote down the phone number of this Mazaki guy very quickly then said ‘thanks for calling, bye’ she looks out the window and sees Conan still stand there listening to her conversation on the phone with a stranger.
‘Conan, I know you still here. Why don’t you get going?’ Ran said again angrily.
Conan ran off the house with no hesitation. He became so alert because of Ran’s angriness. He slow down and continue walking once he reaches the busy road. Conan passes the Electronic shop, they have some big TVs and a giant TV on display and the news channel was on. ‘Priminister Taro Aso was kidnapped sometimes last week, it was a week ago that the Prime Minister was disappeared but JNPA and the secretary office have just come forward to tell the media that they have been looking for the Prime Minister, isn’t it going to be too late? Will they be able to save his life?’ Japan News said.
Conan rushes to the supermarket to buy some soda for Ran and rushes back home as he figures out about the strange call this morning that Ran talked with on the phone. He knows that the phone call was made from the government agency and definitely something serious happened. He gets home with the soda and he tries to look for Ran, but nobody is at home. The police car stops in front of the house, Conan greets them. The police men were in a hurry, they grab Conan’s both arms and lift him up and move him to the car. ‘Where are you taking me?’ Conan said.
‘We are taking you to the police station to see your friends’ the police man said.
They arrive at the police station as they said to Conan and he sees Kogorou and Ran there too. ‘Let me guess, all of you are here because of Prime Minister disappearance?’ Conan guessed.
‘How do you know, Conan? Kogorou said.
‘I saw the news when I was going to the supermarket.’ Conan said.
‘Let’s go on in more details….the police officers at the Tokyo International Airport have seen two European looking men and a Japanese looking men at the Tokyo International Airport leaving to Belgium. We believed that these two European looking men used the Deutsch passport to travel and kidnapped the Prime Minister, whom was asked to put the mask on. We have captured their movements from the surveillance cameras in front of the washrooms’ entrance area that they all went inside the washroom and put on the masks and then go on for boarding for Belgium flight. We are now trying to contact a young Belgian reporter named ‘Tintin’, very smart and talented man to help us with these three men’s movements in Belgium. Here in Japan, we have Kogorou and Conan to help us track them down; we would like to know why they want to keep the Prime Minister.’ Jyuzou said

Tintin receives the phone call from the JNPA and very keen to track these guys down for them. ‘What a surprised phone call from JNPA! We have to get this news before anyone. The Prime Minister of Japan had been kidnapped. This time we may have a chance to go to Japan if we can solve the case, Snowy! We have to see Professor Calculus right now; he might be able to give me some suggestions.’ Tintin said.
Knock. Knock! ‘Professor Calculus, are you at home? It’s me Tintin and Snowy.’ Tintin said.
Professor Calculus has got a hearing problem but Tintin knows that he always leave the door unlock. So Tintin had no choice but barge in. ‘hello, Professor….anyone home?’ Tintin said. As soon as he said that the professor sees him and got frighten. ‘Argh…a thief’ Professor said. Then he tends to hit Tintin with a stick. ‘Ruff, ruff.’ Snowy barks. The Professor knows right away they are friends.
‘Tintin, I’m sorry. I didn’t hear you came in.’ Professor said.
‘You always leave the front door unlock, do you think it’s safe?’ Tintin said.
‘It’s safe in this neighbourhood, nothing to worry about!’ Professor said. ‘Anyway, what brought you here today?’
‘I had a call from JNPA (Japan National Police Agency), the Japanese Prime Minister was kidnapped by the two European men and they travelled to Belgium for some reasons. I need to find out what are they doing here and why they bring the Prime Minister here?’ Tintin said.
‘Do you have the European men’s descriptions?’ Professor said.
‘Not with me but I can get them to send me the sketch from the VDO tape.’ Tintin said.
Professor advised Tintin to go to the Brussels Airport and Charleroi Brussels South Airport and get the VDO Tapes recording of the two European men and one Japanese man together and get the pictures sketched. At the same time Tintin calls to JNPA and asks them to send the sketch of the two men’s pictures and send them as soon as possible. He tries to find the taxi driver number 13 which the three men had gone home from the airport with.
‘Hi there, I’m looking for the taxi driver number 13. Did he come in today?’ Tintin asked.
‘No, he is not.’ Another driver said.
‘It’s ok I will come back another day.’ Tintin said.

Back in Japan Kogorou, Ran and Conan all go to talk to the Prime Minister’s family, especially his wife. Kogorou interviews her about what are other businesses that Taro does apart from joining the Japanese parliament. She said that the Aso family owns a coal mining business as well but she may not think if her husband would have an enemy anywhere.
Kogorou thinks that the interview between them was not very helpful to the case. He stops interviewing and then tells everyone to go home.
Conan has something in his mind that he doesn’t share with anyone, later that day he asked Kogorou to drop him in front of the local library. ‘I just want to take a walk and breathe in the fresh air’ Conan said.
Conan goes into the library and do some research about the coal mining business which Aso family runs. He searches from the journals and finds that the mine has been opened for very long time before in the 40’s and there were more than 300 prisoners of war worked there for free. Conan finds this interesting fact and he thinks he will come back to read more tomorrow, he must walk back home before anyone questions him where he was.
Later that night, Kogorou receives a call from JNPA that the European man contacts the Aso family that they wanted the money 10 million Euro.

Back in Belgium, Tintin has received the sketched of the two men pictures and they are matched to the pictures he has. He saw the VDO tapes and also there he heard the two men talking not in Belgiun language but in Deutsch language He has been to the library to search for the information about Aso’s business related to the European men. He finds the same fact as Conan. Tintin goes back to the airport. This time he finds taxi driver number 13.
‘I’m looking for taxi driver number 13, is he here today?’ Tintin said.
‘Yes, he is here. ‘Another man said.
‘Heyyyy, Captain Haddock. What are you doing here? You are the driver number 13? Tintin asked.
‘It’s been a long time, Tintin. Yes, it’s me. This is my part time job when I’m away from the water….hahaha. How can I help you?’ Captain said.
‘Can you remember sometimes last week, you picked up three men, two are believed to be Deutsch and one is Japanese.’ Tintin said.
‘Let me think…..Oh yes, they were acting very odd. The asian man seems very pale like he is sick or some sort!’ Captain said.
‘Do you remember, where did you drop them off?’ Tintin asked hurriedly.
‘Yes, I will take you there.’ Captain said.
‘Ok, hurry up. We need to save someone’s life.’ Tintin said.
Captain Haddock takes Tintin to the apartment where he drops those three men off, the apartment is three leveled. They stop the car there and keep an eye on the building for a while. Tintin let snowy out of the car and snowy sniffs something fishy. The fishy smell comes off the third level of the apartment. ‘ruff, ruff……’ Snowy said. One man came out to shout at snowy. ‘hey, shut the f@** up!’ the man sticks his head out the window.
‘That’s him, one of them.’ Captain Haddock said.
It’s almost lunch time so Tintin thinks that one of them might go to get some lunch and leave the other one with Aso. He calls the detectives Thomson and Thompson for back up. The detectives don’t take long time they hurriedly come to the apartment but Tintin asks him to wait in another corner. Twenty minutes later one of the man leaves the building as Tintin’s plan. Tintin and Captan rush to the building, they reach the second and another man leaves the third floor room. He shouts to his friend ‘hey, get me some ciggy too!’ right then Tintin rushes to the third floor and open the door, he sees Aso there got tied up with the rope. He unties Aso and helps him out of the room. The clumpsy detectives rush in the building and the door was so small for both of them to get in at the same time. ‘BANG!’ big crash…for the twin brothers. Captain Haddock finds a stick which lying around on the apartment floor and hit the Deutsch man with it. They all run off the building and help Aso alive. Tintin thanks all his friends for the help and tries to get Aso to eat normal again after he becomes so skinny.

Tintin flies to Japan and of course accompany by snowy to guard Aso back home safely. Tintin accompany by snowy and Kogorou accompany by Conan, they solve the case and Conan invited everyone to sit in the dark room where Kogorou sit in the front seat faints, Conan wears the gadget and plays the slide of the Coal mining history. Aso family had forced two Deutsch prisoners of war to work in their mine and nobody in Deutsch land ever heard about them again. The two kidnappers were related to the prisoners of war, wanted to take revenge because their ancestors worked for Aso for free and it’s time for Aso to repay. So they decided to kidnap him and request 10 million Euro.
‘why did they take Aso to Belgium?’ Ran asked.
Tintin sees that Conan uses the gadget to speak for Kogorou so he take the gadget from Conan and answers Ran’s question.
‘They took Aso to Belgium so there will be no connection to the mine history and Belgium is next to Netherland. It’s easy for them to live in Belgium and to run away after they get the money.’ Tintin said.
